Which way is up?

Joel 2:28-29 "Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. 29Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. (New Living Translation)

Relationships or partnerships consisting of two or more gifted parties can be trying and chaotic. It is easy to turn your ears away from one another when you have a direct ear to God. In seasons where revelation is given to both parties, it can often ensue war. In our humanity, it is frequently assumed that if two people receive a word in the same season that both words are specifically meant for that season and one must negate the other, which is not the case. Another assumption that is regularly made is that each word given was meant to stand alone when the full vision lies within the unification. The debates fueled by these rash perspectives often circle around who is right? Which can result in unwarrented efforts of discredidation. May I suggest to you that God has paired or partnered you for a reason giving each party unique pieces to the same puzzle, and if you have ever put a puzzle together you can function with the understanding that there is strategy and importance in the order each piece is placed, but eventually each piece will be used toward discovering the full image. It is important that in these pairings we do not become offended or discouraged but instead learn to ask the right questions such as: what type of piece am I in this season? What part of the picture do I hold? and How do these pieces fit together to glorify God? And in prayer let ourselves be forever reminded that it is only in our humility and our willingness to build together that the broader picture is successfully revealed.
